About
I’m Roya from Talking Art Studio. I am a person centred counsellor, who works creatively. My counselling space is based in a local arts centre, where I provide one to one confidential counselling.
Sometimes in life we can lose our way in the struggles of relationships, anxiety, depression, family problems, low self esteem, work stress, illness or bereavement. If you are reading this, it’s likely you are facing difficulties in your life.
I want you to know that you are not alone. I strive to help my clients to reconnect with their authentic self and find their way through, by providing a peaceful and open space free from judgement.
I’ve worked in secondary and further education with children and young people facing severe mental health struggles and personal struggles related to neurodiversity, immigration and relationship problems.
I have also worked as an advocate with clients from all over the world who needed support to access legal advice, housing and social services.
I currently volunteer weekly at a local Hospice as a specialist bereavement counsellor with adults who have lost their loved ones.
I endeavour to bring my true self to my client work. I think it’s really important that you have someone you can trust, especially in the vulnerable process of healing. Trustworthyness is a part of the BACP ethical and professional framework, to which I adhere, as a registered BACP member this framework is integral to my work.
I believe we can relate deeply to one another through counselling and especially through creative interventions, and I hope that this work can be supportive to my clients.
Please get in touch to find out if Talking Art Studio can help you. We will have a 20 minute online consultation which is free of charge to begin the conversation. Please be reassured that if we aren’t the right fit, I will endeavour to signpost you somewhere more suitable.
